Why Manufacturing?


Position Summary

This exciting internship opportunity will enable students to learn various aspects of
manufacturing from quality, CNC set up & machining, material purchasing &
procurement, shop floor basics, and more. Students will spend time at different
companies throughout the DFW area learning new skills, applying their own
collective knowledge, and working with some of the most innovative companies in
the state.

This 12-16 week program allows students to have real life experiences with employers
who are hiring right now! This program covers Semester 1-3. Semester 4 will be
offered after course completion.

Semester 1: Quality Control

Objective: Utilize and practice inspection skills
to become self-efficient at managing and
improving product quality.

Semester 2: CNC Machine Operator

Objective: Learn/practice how to effectively
operate a work center to become self-efficient
at producing quality products.

Semester 3: CNC Setup Operator

Objective: Learn/practice how to effectively
setup (from start to finish) and operate a work
center to become self-efficient at producing
quality products.

Semester 4: CNC Programmer/Process Planner

Objective: Learn how to effectively engineer a
CNC process to produce quality products.
